Codemasters vet Sagnier joins Steel City Interactive
Former Codemasters CEO Frank Sagnier has joined Undisputed developer Steel City Interactive.
The industry veteran has come on board as the studio’s chair. Steel City Interactive is known for its boxing game, Undisputed, which features iconic brawlers like Muhammad Ali and Tyson Fury. The title is set to release into Steam Early Access in the near future.
“Having seen what Ash [Habib, co-founder and creative director of Steel City] and the team at SCI have achieved so far, and what’s to come, I’m thrilled to join a team that is already punching well above its weight,” Sagnier said.
“The sport of boxing has a growing global audience hungry for a game that represents not only the most authentic boxing experience but also an unprecedented roster of former and current champions. Undisputed will be an incredible game experience for boxing fans and casual gamers alike.”
Habib added: “What started as a fun boxing game has grown exponentially over the past couple of years. This growth has brought new opportunities that Frank is ideally placed to help us maximise. His knowledge and expertise have already helped us shape the vision of the studio and ‘Undisputed’. We’re delighted to have him in our corner.”
Sagnier departed Codemasters after its acquisition by EA last year. He has since taken on chair positions at a few companies other than Steel City, such as Focus Entertainment and virtual reality specialist Ndreams.
