Death Stranding is coming to the big screen
Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding is being made into a film.
That’s according to Deadline, which reports that the IP is being given the silver screen treatment in association with film production firm Hammerstone Studios. That outfit will be fully funding the project, while its founder Alex Lebovici and Hideo Kojima will be acting as producers.
The plot is currently under wraps, though there are rumours that new characters and elements within the Death Stranding universe are set to be introduced.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios,” said Kojima. “This is a pivotal moment for the franchise and I’m really looking forward to collaborating with them in bringing Death Stranding to the big screen.”
Since its release at the end of 2019, Death Stranding has been played by over 10 million people. Last year, Kojima Productions opened up a new film, TV and music division.
