Trademark filing adds fuel to Counter-Strike 2 speculation
Two new trademark filings have added credence to the idea that a new entry in the Counter-Strike series is on the way.
As reported by PCGamesN, Valve has filed two trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for ‘CS2’. This is linked to previous trademark registrations that the company has made for… Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. So it’s incredibly likely that CS2 is in fact a filing for Counter-Strike 2.
The CS2 filings are for the computer game software and entertainment services categories respectively.
Word that Counter-Strike 2 might be on the way came via journalist Richard Lewis, who claims that a beta for the shooter could be coming as early as April. The game is said to be built on Valve’s Source 2 engine.
